Dublin, Ireland — 17th August 2025 – The World Kabaddi Federation (WKF) is delighted to announce that the Ireland Kabaddi Association (IKA) has officially become an affiliated member.

The Executive Committee of the IKA was formally introduced during India’s Independence Day celebrations in Dublin, in the presence of the High Commissioner of India, representatives of the Irish Government, and thousands of spectators. The announcement was met with great enthusiasm and marks a historic milestone for the sport.

With Ireland’s inclusion, all four nations of Great Britain—England, Scotland, Wales, and now Ireland are represented under the banner of the World Kabaddi Federation.

Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Das, President said:

“The affiliation of the Ireland Kabaddi Association is an important step in expanding Kabaddi across Europe. The passion and support witnessed in Dublin demonstrate the growing popularity of the sport, and we look forward to Ireland’s strong participation on the international stage.”

Looking ahead, the World Kabaddi Federation is proud to confirm that it will host the inaugural British Nations Kabaddi Cup in 2026, bringing together the four nations in a celebration of sport, culture, and unity.
